Olivia Sanders. Business Development Manager
It’s been a whirlwind last six months for New Zealand Cashmere. We attended National Fieldays which was a resounding success with a number of interested farmers and other rural professionals seeking out our stand to discuss the past, present and future of the New Zealand Cashmere industry.
I have been establishing relationships with the likes of Federated Farmers, NZIPIM, Beef and Lamb NZ, AsureQuality, AbacusBio and the other goat industry bodies which may present opportunities for individual growers as well as the New Zealand Cashmere industry.
We’re thrilled to have Duncan Steans join us as our North Island Area Manager. Duncan’s a welcome addition to our small, hardworking team. His role is to focus on our North Island growers, supporting existing farmers and presenting the opportunity to interested farmers across the island. Duncan will be a fixture at North Island events, Field Days and work alongside rural professionals, educating others on the New Zealand Cashmere opportunity.
This will enable me to concentrate on South Island growers and continue the business development work while spending a little more time at home with my young family and I am also looking forward to supporting the family farm.
There’s been an exciting level of interest in becoming a New Zealand Cashmere grower, so it is important that if you have goats coming up for sale, to please communicate the age, type and price you have on these early, so we can attempt to place these in homes.
