We are farming a different cashmere goat.
We are farming a New Zealand cashmere goat.

About.

A Global Issue

Luxury fashion brands and informed consumers are concerned about the origins of their products and their impact on the world. Cashmere has become increasingly popular as a luxury fibre ever since the early 18th century. Demand has grown significantly and today many traditional suppliers of cashmere face environmental issues such as desertification through the overpopulation of goats.

New Zealand’s Opportunity

New Zealand Cashmere has successfully integrated foundation flocks into existing farming systems and now we are looking for select NZ farmers who want to partner with us to build an industry. NZ Cashmere was formed to bring sustainably produced luxurious New Zealand cashmere to the world.

Our Goal

Create a better cashmere industry – an industry that supplies, luxurious cashmere fibre from New Zealand that is whiter, longer, brighter, softer, and finer and truly unique. Most importantly, NZ Cashmere will be grown by experienced farmers from a country world-renowned for producing high-quality natural fibres. With a farming community that cares about environmental sustainability and animal welfare, this precious fibre will make its way to luxury brands and consumers around the globe. Its fully-traceable story through New Zealand Cashmere and the Woolyarns network will secure future returns for you.

Partnership.

Through the power of research and development in breeding goats, New Zealand Cashmere goats are now suitable for New Zealand farming conditions while producing some of the most luxurious, fine fibre that the world has seen.

Woolyarns bring technical yarn-spinning knowledge and technology to the relationship. Significant investment in fibre processing plant has been made to make this all-New Zealand supply chain a reality. Together, a New Zealand-owned and operated infrastructure exists with the ability to take raw Cashmere fibre right through to luxury fashion brands and knitting manufacturers around the world. Woolyarns have an extensive distribution network selling their yarns globally.

This partnership brings growers and farmers security of future income with an existing supply chain ready to convert their fibre into world-leading yarns. We aim to create a better cashmere fibre industry – an industry that supplies a luxurious, world-class cashmere from New Zealand that is whiter, longer, brighter, softer, and finer that is truly unique. Most importantly, NZ Cashmere will be grown by experienced farmers from a country world-renowned for producing high-quality fibre. With a farming community that cares about environmental sustainability and animal welfare, which are important features of NZ Cashmere, this precious fibre will make its way to luxury brands and consumers around the globe. Its fully-traceable story through NZ Cashmere and the Woolyarns network will ensure future returns for you.
