Cashmere is making a comeback.
Become a pioneer of New Zealand’s ultra-premium luxury fibre industry.
New Zealand Cashmere, backed by Woolyarns, is opening expressions of interest in becoming a pilot farm in the Foundation Flock Programme.
Farmers would be required to integrate up to 200 breeding does into their farming system with a commitment of three years to the programme.
As a part of the programme, farmers will be full supported by New Zealand Cashmere, AbacusBio and animal health professionals.
Ownership models including sharefarming are available to a limited number of farms.
The integration of cashmere goats into pastoral farming systems brings a number of benefits:
Secure, long term fibre contracts of $100/kg - $150/kg
Improved pasture utilisation and up to 30% improvement in clover cover
Biological weed control – less chemical spray use and cost
Diversification in revenue in fibre, meat and progeny sales
Expressions of interest open now and close on Thursday 22nd December.
Fill out the form or call Olivia Sanders, NZ Cashmere Business Development Manager, for a no-obligation, confidential chat about the opportunity.
